[origin: WO0115572A1] The invention relates to an underneath suspension consisting of individual segments. The inventive suspension pertains to a mattress or a piece of furniture designed for sitting or lying. Said suspension comprises individual elastic elements that consist of a support plate, at least one elastic body and a base plate respectively. The aim of the invention is to easily produce the inventive suspension and to adjust the elastic properties thereof randomly. To this end, the elastic body (1) consists of suspension arms (3) which extend in a straight manner or are cambered radially towards the outside in a straight or cambered level and are arranged around a first centre (6) and a centre axle (2). The suspension arms are provided with clamping means on the outer ends thereof. The clamping means are bent in a basket-like manner towards the centre axle (2) and engage with clamps (5) in a second centre (7) that is arranged at a distance from the first centre (6). The clamps (5) correspond to the clamping means (4) and pertain to a clamp receptacle (8). The suspension arms are fixed in the second centre.
