The switching assembly (3) of the hair drier (1) has a spring, and the operating button is movable against the spring force. A setting part is actuated by the operating button, for actuating the microswitch in an arrested position. The setting part forms an integral unit with the operating button. The spring is incorporated between the operating button and the setting part to exert a pressure in the direction of both elements.
