Process for treating workpieces in an immersion bath comprises moving the workpieces in a horizontal and a vertical direction in the bath. An Independent claim is also included for a device for treating workpieces, comprising a first drive for moving workpieces on a support in a horizontal direction in the immersion bath, and a second drive for additionally moving the workpieces in the vertical direction in the bath. Preferred Features: The workpieces are moved in the horizontal direction along a circle or ellipse. The hub of the vertical movement can be adjusted.

Um Werkstücke, die sogenannten Waren (2), in einem galvanischen Tauchbad (3) an ihrer Oberfläche insbesondere auch an den kritischen Stellen mit einer gleichmäßigen Schutzschicht zu beschichten, werden die Waren (2) im Tauchbad (3) sowohl in horizontaler als auch in vertikaler Richtung bewegt. Um eine kombinierte horizontale und vertikale Bewegung der Waren (2) zu bewirken, ist bei einer Vorrichtung ein Antrieb zur horizontalen Bewegung mit einem Antrieb zur vertikalen Bewegung kombiniert. Besonders vorteilhaft ist es, die Waren (2) in horizontaler Richtung entlang einer Hypozykloide (29) zu bewegen. <IMAGE>
