Abstract (en)
In a paper or cardboard manufacturing process a machine feeds a web (12) towards (L) a slot in a machine, dragging with it the boundary layer (12) of air. A charge electrode (14) is directed at the moving web, disrupting the laminar flow of the boundary layer. A counter-electrode (16) faces the first (14) on the other side of the web. The counter-electrode (16) may be a rotating drum. Also claimed is an embodiment one or more such electrostatic units is used in conjunction with a skimmer blade (32) which lifts passing turbulent air flow from the web towards a vacuum (36) inlet. A steam jet (52) emitter array (50) is directed at the web surface after the slot and moistens the web surface.

Eine Maschine zur Herstellung einer Faserstoffbahn wie insbesondere einer Papier- oder Kartonbahn umfaßt wenigstens einen eine Aufladungselektrode (14) sowie eine Gegenelektrode (16) aufweisenden elektrostatischen Luftgrenzschichtverwirbler (10) für ein zumindest teilweises Ablösen einer auf der bewegten Faserstoffbahn oder einer bewegten Fläche wie insbesondere einem umlaufenden Band, einer rotierenden Walze oder dergleichen gebildeten laminaren Luftgrenzschicht (20), der in Laufrichtung der Faserstoffbahn bzw. der bewegten Fläche vor einem Spalt angeordnet ist, um die laminare Luftgrenzschicht vor Erreichen des Spaltes zumindest teilweise abzulösen. Alternativ oder zusätzlich ist die Verwendung eines oder mehrerer elektrostatischer Luftgrenzschichtverwirbler in Kombination mit einem eine Faserstoffbahn beaufschlagenden Befeuchter (50), in Kombination mit einem die Faserstoffbahn beaufschlagenden Dampfblaskasten (50), in Kombination mit einer dahinter und/oder einer davor an der Faserstoffbahn angeordneten Ableitleiste (32) und/oder in Kombination mit einer Absaugeinrichtung (36) zum Absaugen zumindest eines Teils der verwirbelten Luft möglich. <IMAGE>
