Abstract (en)
[origin: DE10060273C1] The glow plug (1) comprises a dielectric resistance element (17) composed of two resistance coils (20, 21) connected in series. The coil (20) on the combustion chamber side acts as a heating element and the coil (21) on the side facing away from the combustion chamber acts as a regulating element, is made from an iron-based alloy and maintains a body-centered cubic crystal structure during all operational states. Preferred Features: The iron-based alloy has a temperature resistant coefficient of more than 6, preferably more than 7. The iron-based alloy contains 1.25-2 wt.% vanadium, 2-3.5 wt.% molybdenum and 1-2 wt.% titanium.
