[origin: WO0151945A1] The invention relates to a method for compensating for the measurement error that occurs while measuring current in an energy store (1). According to the method, the current is measured using a first current transformer (9) and a second current transformer (10) for higher currents, and the transformer values (14, 15) of both current transformers (9, 10) are converted into measured values (17) in an evaluation electronic unit (13). Once they have reached a threshold (24), the measured values for the battery current IBatt. (6) are measured using both current transformers (9, 10). The resulting measurement is used to determine the offset (27) of one current transformer (10) and the measured values (30) thereof are corrected by the amount of said offset.
