[origin: WO0122704A1] The invention relates to a method for providing an exceptionally priced call and for notifying about it, which is based on information on a call to be formed or which has been formed and which is to be examined being directed to an intelligent network centre in response to a dialled number containing a specific number series, such as an area code, which is received from the calling subscriber's connection, and a lottery or lottery-like operation being carried out under the control of the intelligent network, as a result of which exceptional pricing is set for the call to be examined. If exceptional pricing is set for the call to be examined, the control of the intelligent network is used to prevent at least one metering pulse or other billing information from reaching the billing system taking care of the billing of the call to be examined, a message is sent under the control of the intelligent network centre (12) to the rest of the telephone network to form a telephone connection to the calling connection (10) and/or to the notification device (14), and to use this telephone connection to inform the calling connection (10) of the exceptional pricing of the call to be examined.
