Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1215154A2] Following a break in a yarn fault elimination process, the broken end is withdrawn from the spool and spliced. The break point is recorded and the process continues. In the event of a further break, the quantity of yarn on the spool is determined. If the yarn wound onto the spool exceeds a given quantity, garn is withdrawn from the spool to remove the last splice. The quantity of yarn on the spool (4) is determined with reference to spooling time elapsed between two breaks, or a measured length of yarn. The break occurs as a result of a fault elimination process.
