Single cylinder pump module comprises a module housing (16), a fuel pump (10), a control valve arrangement (30), and a control device (32) operating a valve organ (46) and consisting of a piezoelectric lifting unit (34) connected to the valve organ. Preferred Features: The piezoelectric lifting unit is mounted on the module housing with a lifting direction (36) essentially parallel to or at an acute angle to a housing axis (20) of the module housing. The module housing is axially elongated and the piezoelectric lifting unit is mounted on the module housing in the region of an axial end of the module housing.

Es wird ein Einzelzylinder-Pumpmodul für ein Kraftstoffeinspritzsystem einer Verbrennungsmaschine vorgeschlagen, umfassend ein Modulgehäuse (16); eine Kraftstoffpumpe (10) zur Förderung von Kraftstoff in eine an einen Leitungsanschluß (26) des Pumpmoduls anschließbare und zu einem Einspritzmodul führende Kraftstoffeinspritzleitung, wobei die Kraftstoffpumpe einen in einer zylindrischen Pumpenkammer (14) des Modulgehäuses axial beweglich aufgenommenen Pumpenkolben (12) aufweist; eine Steuerventilanordnung (30) zur Steuerung des von der Kraftstoffpumpe in die Kraftstoffeinspritzleitung geförderten Kraftstoffstroms, wobei die Steuerventilanordnung ein in einer Ventilkammer (44) des Modulgehäuses verstellbar aufgenommenes Ventilorgan (46) aufweist; und eine Stelleinrichtung (32) zur Betätigung des Ventilorgans. Erfindungsgemäß umfaßt die Stelleinrichtung eine mit dem Ventilorgan in Stellverbindung stehende piezoelektrische Hubeinheit (34). Bei einer bevorzugten Variante weist das Modulgehäuse zwei gesondert hergestellte, fest miteinander verbundene Gehäusekörper (48, 50) auf, deren einer (48) mit der Pumpenkammer und deren anderer (50) mit der Ventilkammer ausgeführt ist (Figur 1). <IMAGE>
