The collection box (1) and expansion vessel (3) comprise two parts joined together in their length axis direction and separated by a common wall (6). The degassing tube (8) is located in the joint (7) between the box and vessel. The radiator comprises horizontal tubes (20) with ribs (21) in between, the ends of the tubes communicating with collection boxes (1, 2). An expansion vessel is connected to one collection box and its length and cross-direction walls extend parallel to those of the box. A degassing tube on one length wall extends between the collection box and expansion vessel and is used to enable gases in the coolant liquid to escape from the box and into the vessel. An Independent claim is also included for a similar radiator, where in addition to the degassing tube, at least one further tube (4) extending between the collection box and expansion vessel is located in the joint between the box and vessel.

Die Erfindung betrifft einen Querstromkühler für Kraftfahrzeuge, bestehend aus horizontal angeordneten Rohren (20) mit dazwischen befindlichen Rippen (21), wobei die Rohre (20) an beiden Enden in Sammelkästen (1; 2) münden; an einem der Längs - und Querwände aufweisenden Sammelkästen (1) ist parallel dazu ein ebenfalls Längs - und Querwände aufweisendes Ausdehnungsgefäß (3) angeordnet, wobei eine an einer Längswand ausgeformte Entgasungsleitung (8) vorgesehen ist, die mit dem Ausdehnungsgefäß (3) und dem Sammelkasten (1) in Strömungsverbindung ist, um Gaseinschlüsse in der Kühlflüssigkeit aus dem Sammelkasten (1) in das Ausdehnungsgefäß (3) zu führen. Eine kompakte Gestalt des Sammelkastens mit dem Ausdehnungsgefäß und weniger Einzelteile werden erfindungsgemäß dadurch erreicht, daß der Sammelkasten (1) und das Ausdehnungsgefäß (2) aus zwei in Richtung ihrer Längsachsen (5) angeordneten und fügetechnisch verbundenen Teilen gebildet ist, die mittels einer gemeinsamen Wand (6) voneinander getrennt sind, wobei die Entgasungsleitung (8) in der Fügenaht (7) angeordnet ist. Außerdem kann neben der Entgasungsleitung eine zusätzliche Leitung (4) vorgesehen werden, die ebenfalls in der Ebene (13) der Fügenaht (7) angeordnet ist. <IMAGE>
