[origin: DE10062726C1] The method involves the user performing flight booking using a mobile communications terminal (N) and the air carrier using a beacon (B) for the check-in process with which the user's terminal can communicate wirelessly. The user can call up the check-in service directly via a server (RPS, FGS) when within communications range with the beacon. Independent claims are also included for the following: the use of a smart phone, PDA or palmtop with a radio or infrared connection for conducting check-in processes in airports.
