[origin: WO0123260A1] The invention relates to a re-sealable container comprising a rectangular bottom surface, four side surfaces (body surfaces (1, 3)), which are essentially located at right angles with each other, a top area which is sealed with a segmented seam (5) after the container has been filled, and a sealing element (8) which is located on a slopped surface (7) in the top area. According to the invention, optimal use can be made of the volume of the container without compromising the advantages offered by known containers in terms of production, filling and sealing. The container is folded in such a way that the sloped surface (7) supporting the sealing element (8) extends at least partially out of the rectangular profile defined by the bottom surface, so that the body surface (1) located beneath the sealing element bulges out and the body surface facing the protruding body surface (1) has a corresponding indentation, at least in the top area.
