Abstract (en)

[origin: US6881869B1] The present invention relates to a process for preparing mixed substituted alkynyl ethers. More particularly, the invention concerns the preparation of mixed ethers derived from a benzyl type alcohol and a substituted alkynyl alcohol. The process of the invention for preparing a benzyl/substituted alkynyl type mixed ether is prepared from a benzyl/alkynyl type mixed ether with a hydrogen atom on the triple bond is characterized in that it consists of reacting a mixed ether derived from a benzyl type alcohol and an alkynyl alcohol with a hydrogen atom on the triple bond with an alkylation agent, in the presence of an anionisation agent.
