[origin: WO0123343A2] A method for manufacturing an alkylated phenylnaphthylamine composition includes alkylating nonalkylated phenylnaphthylamine with olefin in the presence of clay catalyst without subsequent removal of nonalkylated phenylnaphthylamine and polyalkylated phenylnaphthylamine. Suitable nonalkylated phenylnaphthylamines include N-phenyl-1-naphthylamine, its derivatives, and mixtures thereof. The alkylated phenylnaphthylamine compositions can be used in antioxidant and lubricant compositions.
