[origin: EP1216947A1] The method for collating printed sheets (1) to form a product (8) uses individual feeders for each type of sheet. These are fitted with bar code readers (9) which read a code identifying the sheet and verifying that it has the correct orientation. The information is fed to a central control unit (12) which stops the machine if a reader produces an error signal. An Independent claim is included for a collating machine for use in the method.
