[origin: EP1217109A2] A spinning assembly has a jet block which converts a fibre feed into a thread in a guide passage. The threads are spun by an array of twisting air jets. The assembly has a rotating or stationary hollow spindle with an inlet to a yarn passage which spins the fibres to thread. One or all of the fibre passage (C), jet (13) and spindle (A) can be opened for access. The hollow spindle inlet is a ring which remains attached to the spindle on disassembly. The ring may be sub-divided, the component parts remaining attached to the commensurate spindle halves.
