[origin: EP1217111A2] A pneumatic spinning assembly converts fibres to thread in a jet block with a hollow chamber holding a spindle. The chamber has an air jet generating a vortex within the chamber. A fibre guide is positioned facing the spindle and forms a false core during thread production. A fibre guide passage funnels from outside into the hollow chamber. The fibre guide passage cross sectional profile varies along the passage length. The cross sectional profile minimises the incidence of turbulence and non-laminar flow. The cross sectional profile is either diverging, converging or parallel. The guide (6) extends into the fibre guide (11). The fibre guide passage (11) edge profile has sections which are straight and/or oval, and/or circular, and or round segmented, and/or kidney shape, and/or heart/shaped, and/or sickle shaped and/or half-moon shaped.
