Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1217116A2] Following a steam treatment process for textile mesh hose made of a combination of natural and elastic fibre, the hose is spread and subjected to a thermal fixing process in a vertical plane. The hose is especially continually fed through a thermal fixing chamber with a round spreader (21) at a pre-determined speed. The round spreader (21) is located within a hose feed section (20) forming part of a thermal fixing chamber (17) treatment assembly (20). A batch of hose (1) accumulates and forms a buffer store in the feed part (20) of the thermal fixing chamber (17). Hose is continually drawn from the buffer at a pre-determined rate and passes through the thermal fixing process. The buffer is created by maintaining the hose feed at a faster rate than the removal rate. The buffer is maintained by equalising the feed rate with the removal rate. The hose is thermally treated during its downward passage.
