[origin: WO0222460A1] The invention relates to a method for sealing a pouring opening of a container and a container with a corresponding structure. A sealing element (18) which covers the opening, composed of a flat layered material, is connected to an edge area (17) of the container (1) all around the opening, preferably by welding. The sealing element is further connected, or glued to the hinged lid (11) of a sealing cap (4) mounted onto the container, said hinged lid covering the pouring opening. The adhesive strength of the connection between the sealing cap and the hinged lid is greater than that between the sealing element and the edge area of the container. In order to separate the sealing element from the edge area of the container, the hinged lid must be pivoted away. The arrangement of the container and sealing cap is particularly suitable for the conservation of chemical substances in powder form and can be used for example in photo developing machines. The opening of the hinged lid can take place mechanically in order to allow access to the contents of the container.
