[origin: DE19947282A1] The invention relates to a method for recognizing tampering of a package and its contents. The aim is to detect the opening of an original package and detect an exchange of contents or a composition deviating from the original composition. This is achieved by a non-destructive examining method which is characterized in that individual articles are provided with characteristic, externally detectable markings. Said markings are detected as random individual characteristics, coded and applied to said package. A comparison of said coded signals and an externally detectable actual signal pattern of said article contained in the package is subsequently made.
