[origin: WO0124297A1] The invention relates to a method for determining an alcohol concentration in an alcohol/water-mixture of fuel cells operated using said mixture, in particular direct-methanol-fuel cells. The alcohol/water-mixture is pumped through a narrow channel. The differential pressure between the inlet and outlet of said narrow channel, optionally the flow speed of the mixture through the narrow channel and the alcohol concentration thereof are determined.
