Abstract (en)

In a pulverized fuel burning boiler comprising a furnace and a pulverized fuel burner (302) for supplying a pulverized fuel mixture into the furnace so as to be burned, the burner (302) has an increased width and a reduced height so as to effect a high thermal load combustion of fuel in a narrow area. A separately provided additional air port (314) is disposed above the burner (302) and a twist plate (312) is disposed within a pulverized fuel pipe (310) for biasing a pulverized fuel to an inner side of the furnace. A combustion secondary air injection port (309) of the burner (302) is arranged in the burner (302) so as to increase an opening area close to a furnace wall side to thereby increase an amount of air close to a furnace wall side.
