[origin: WO0127367A2] Threads are wound onto a warping drum (3) at a constant winding tension by a warp creel (C) and via a deviating roller (1), forming a warp section (M). The increase in the winding diameter is preferably determined based on the ratio of rotations of the deviating roller and the warping drum. The advance of the coning slide is determined or continuously controlled or regulated after the first rotation of the warping drum according to the coning ratio and according to the current measured values of the increase in the winding diameter. The appropriate measured values are registered in a table and stored. As a result, it is possible to work without inputting data relevant to the advance. It is possible to work with or without the equalising roller in order to compensate material-specific properties.
