The swivel joint articulation comprises an ogival shaped element (6) which is housed in a cavity (8) of the shoe heel (12). The ogival element is tapered towards the top and front of the shoe and is orientated relative to the shoe with angles of 45o to the sagittal plane and 30o relative to the horizontal plane.
