Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1223293A2] External door providing access to a garage, especially a side door, comprises a frame and a door leaf attached to the frame so that it opens into the garage. A weather-protection strip (40) protecting the lower door gap (45) against penetrating precipitation is provided on a lower horizontal door leaf frame spar (15). The strip receives precipitation from the door filling (7) and diverts it in the direction of the region facing the weather outside the door opening to be closed. An Independent claim is also included for a garage closing system comprising the above door. Preferred Features: When the door is closed the weather-protection strip runs from the lower door leaf frame spar to the weather-exposed side of a door sill (41).
