Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0124781A2] PDE10A, a gene that is normally highly expressed in mammalian striatum and elsewhere, has been found to decrease in expression during the development of CAG repeat disorders such as Huntington's disease. The invention teaches a method for detecting the presence of or the predisposition for a CAG repeat disorder. Compounds which modulate CAG repeat disorders and their uses are taught. Methods for screening for further compounds to modulate CAG repeat disorders are also taught.
