Abstract (en)

[origin: WO0126823A2] The invention relates to an adhesive application device (100) for applying adhesive spacers on a continuous strip of filter material. Said adhesive application device comprises a plurality of applicator elements (101; 201) that are of the same kind and that are arranged side by side across the breadth of the strip of filter material. Said applicator elements are provided with respective metering devices that adjust the amount of adhesive applied per time unit in such a manner that the applicator elements generate substantially identical adhesive aggregates with a predetermined elevation or relief in the longitudinal direction of the strip of filter material with a periodicity defined by a metering cycle time. Said metering devices comprise one nozzle (103; 203) each that can be gradually closed and opened by a driven needle (105; 205). At least one inner wall of an outlet section of the nozzle forms a small wedge or conical angle, especially an angle smaller 5 DEG , with an adjacent circumferential section of the needle.
