A valve (110) is used to control the flow of fuel to said internal combustion engine. The valve (110) is controlled by an adjusting element (105) in such a way that when said valve (110) is located in a first position the flow of fuel is stopped and when the valve is located in a second position fuel is released. In certain operational modes, the adjusting element (105) is controlled in such a way that the valve adopts at least one intermediate position.
