[origin: US2002092141A1] A closure for a seat belt comprises a release button shiftably mounted on a frame and cooperating with a latch which can be swiveled between a locking position and an opening position around a swiveling axis, and a blocking element that can assume a blocking position in which it blocks the latch in the locking position. The blocking element is mounted on the frame so as to pivot around an axis that passes through a center of gravity of the blocking element, so that it can be swiveled by the release button out of the blocking position into a release position.

Ein Verschluß (10; 110) für einen Sicherheitsgurt, mit einer verschiebbar an einem Rahmen (14, 16; 115) gelagerten Lösetaste (24; 124) für einen Riegel (18; 118), der zwischen einer Verriegelungsstellung und einer Öffnungsstellung um eine Schwenkachse (As) schwenkbar ist, und mit einem Blockierelement (20; 120), welches eine Blockierposition einnehmen kann, in welcher es den Riegel in seiner Verriegelungsstellung blockiert, ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Blokkierelement (20; 120) um eine Achse (AB), die durch seinen Schwerpunkt geht, schwenkbar am Rahmen gelagert ist, so daß es von der Lösetaste (24; 124) aus seiner Blockierposition in eine Freigabeposition verschwenkt werden kann. <IMAGE>
