Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1225040A2] To form the printing matter and images on a printing surface, the printing surface is of a hydrophilic material or it has a hydrophilic coating. At the preparation stage, the text and images are formed on the printing surface by a jet printer, which uses a hydrophobic material. An adhesive is applied to the hydrophilic surface directly before the jet printing with a hydrophobic material. To prepare a printing plate, the adhesive on the hydrophilic surface can be applied by the jet printer, at a time gap before it prints with the hydrophobic material. The adhesive contains a cross linking agent, and has a fine pore structure so that the surface of the adhesive has open pores. A foaming agent can be mixed into the adhesive.
