The method for producing packs of cigarettes comprises changing the type of cigarette and/or package by: (a) determining how much of the old product remains in the packing machine (14); (b) splicing the new cigarette feed and packing strip to the end of the old; and (c) cutting the splice after the last of the old product has been packed.

Bei der Herstellung und Verpackung von Zigaretten wird bei Durchführung eines Produktwechsels so vorgegangen, dass die gesamte Herstellungs- und Verpackungsanlage weitgehend leergefahren wird. Im Bereich eines Folienpackers (16) und eines anschließenden Stangenpackers (17) werden Aggregate zum Herstellen von Bahnverbindungen (Splice) so gesteuert, dass eine letzte Zigarettenpackung in der alten Ausführung einer letzten Zigarettenstange (24) zugeordnet und diese anschließend ausgesondert wird. <IMAGE>
