Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1225311A2] Filtering device (1) comprises a housing (2) with a gas inlet and a gas outlet and containing a filter body (5) made from porous ceramic material and a heating body (4) provided with channels (6). The filter body and the heating body are divided by separating walls (10, 11, 12) into filter body segments (18) and heating body segments (14, 15, 16 , 17). The heating body segments have electrical connections (19, 20). Preferred Features: The filter body and the heating body have a round or oval cross-section. The heating body and the filter body are made from SiC. A gap of not more than 70, preferably 25-50 mm is formed between the heating body and the filter body.
