[origin: EP1225345A1] The hydraulic cylinder, with a gas spring, has a cylinder tube (1) which is extended over at least one of the sealing walls (8). A sliding piston rod and gas spring piston (6,11) is held at the extension, where an enclosed gas volume (12) is under pressure. A piston rod (6,13) passes through a sealing wall, in a sealed passage against the working zone (9), to act on the working piston (5). At least one bleed opening (14) links a zone (15) with the ambient environment, which lies between the gas volume and the sealing wall.
