[origin: WO0119888A1] Coating compositions including (A) compounds of formula (I) wherein: R1 is a residue of an alpha-beta ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid; R2 is an alkylene group of 1-4 carbons or an alkoxylene group of 1-4 carbons; and n is an integer from 0 to 15; and (B) at least one dicarboxylic acid or anhydride, are provided, either in powder form, or as a solvent-borne coating composition in an organic solvent. The coating composition may also include acrylic and methacrylic monomers and/or styrenes. The coating resins provide excellent heat resistance and high temperature performance. Coated articles and methods of coating substrates with the resins are also provided.
