[origin: EP1226886A1] The system for driving and guiding a strip product (2) has a squeezer (P) to apply a locking pressure to fixed (4) and moving (5) rollers. The squeezer consists of a hydraulic locking cylinder (110) for each of the mobile roller's bearings, with pistons (111) forming pressure chambers (12b) delivering hydraulic fluid at a locking pressure. The pressure chambers are linked to dampers for variations in strip thickness, absorbing a limited movement of the pistons with no substantial variation in hydraulic pressure.
