[origin: JP2002307823A] PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording material for an ink jet printing method. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording material contains a support material and an upper and a lower pigment-containing layer. The pigment of the upper pigment containing layer is present in two kinds of grain size distribution (A and B) and the grain size distribution (A) is set within the range of 10 to 100 nm and the grain size distribution (B) within the range of 1,000 to 3,000 nm. In addition, the pigment of the upper pigment-containing layer is different from the pigment of the lower pigment-containing layer, and the average grain size of the pigment of the upper pigment-containing layer is different from the average grain size of the pigment of the lower pigment-containing layer.
