[origin: WO0118288A1] The invention relates to a method for fusion spinning a multifilament beer (10) from a polymer melt. The beer (10) is formed from a plurality of filaments (4) that are extruded through nozzle bores (3) and are drawn-off under the influence of a take-down tension using a drawing-off means. According to the invention, the beer (10) is cooled in a pre-cooling zone (5) and in a downstream aftercooling zone (6). The cooling in the pre-cooling zone (5) and the aftercooling zone (6) is adjusted in such a way that the beer (10) is cooled in the aftercooling zone (6) under the influence of a cooling medium flow in such a way that the filaments (4) of the beer (10) solidify in the solidification range in a aftercooling zone (6), whereby the cooling medium flow is directed towards the threadline.
