[origin: EP1228732A2] The device has a suction head for application to textile and smooth floors with a slide plate (2) rigidly or pivotably attached to an upper housing part (1) and a transverse suction opening (3) with a suction channel (4) opening into it. The slide plate has a working width of from 350 to 500 mm. measured at the ends of the suction opening. The suction opening consists of a single channel of approximately constant channel width along its length.
