Abstract (en)

The safety unit (1), to prevent slipping at a climbing rope, is a shaped body with a rounded contour and a longitudinal opening (3) as a guide for the cable (2). A mounting (5), as an eyelet and the like, is for fastening the lifeline (4) to the climber. If the climber should fall, the lifeline pulls the unit to an angle to clamp the rope within the opening. Magnets (13,15) hold the unit against the cable, to remain in position without slipping down and give an immediate tilting action to hold the falling body at the cable.

Die Absturzsicherung (1) besteht im wesentlichen aus einem Formteil, durch welches zur Aufnahme der Führung (2), z.B. einem Drahtseil, eine Längs-Öffnung (3) geführt ist und welches an seinem Umfang abgerundet ist. Ein Verbindungsmittel (5), Z.B. eine Öse zum Befestigen einer Verbindungsleine (4) zur zu sichernden Person, ist so angeordnet, dass ein hier durch die Schwerkraft der abstürzenden Person ansetzender zug die Absturzsicherung (1) und mit ihr deren Längs-Öffnung (3) in bezug auf die Längsachse der Führung (2) derart kippt, dass eine Klemmwirkung eintritt. Vorteilhaft sind Magnete (13 - 15) vorgesehen, die das Eigengewicht der Absturzsicherung (1) an der Führung (2), d.h. am Drahtseil, halten. Dadurch bleibt die Absturzsicherung (1) in der Arbeitsposition, kann aber nicht unkontrolliert nach unten rauschen und gelangt im Absturzfall sofort in Klemmstellung. <IMAGE>
