Abstract (en)
The invention relates to a method for making a printing plate for flexographic printing. To this end a basic plate is engraved by means of a laser beam, for example, a CO2 or YAG laser. Where the laser beam has acted on the material of the surface of the basic plate, said material is removed, resulting in a printing plate with a printing image. The method according to the invention provides a very simple, quick and cheap method of making printing plates, in which chemical rinsing and etching fluids are no longer necessary. By means of the invention it is possible to perform an alignment while the printing plate is being engraved.
