[origin: EP1228976A2] Seal for a bottle has a central section (2) which fits in the bottle connected by a step (6) to a sealing flange (3) which fits over its lip. The seal contains a metallic component (5) allowing its presence and alignment to be detected, e.g. by X-ray. An independent claim is included for a method for testing the sealing of a bottle fitted with the seal.
