Abstract (en)
[origin: EP1229165A1] Cellulose fleece has a fire-retardant additive with a limiting oxygen index (LOI) of at least 65. The cellulose material is Lycocell which may be crushed and converted to fibre. The fire retardant fleece has a specific weight of 11 to 150 g/m. The fire retardant additive is cyclic and acyclic phosphonate and di-phosophonate-ester, alkyl-phosphonic acids, chlorinated phosphoric comounds, organic phosphor nitric oxide compounds, or inorganic phosphor compounds, pyro-phosphoric acids, organic nitric oxide comounds, or any desired combination of these. The fleece incorporates at least 40 per cent by weight fire-retardant additives. Also claimed is a process to manufacture the fire-retardant fleece using a paper manufacturing machine and primary fibre material having a crushability of 5 to 75 SR. The flame retardant agent is applied by spray beams in a glue press.
