Abstract (en)

[origin: DE19955881A1] Process for the recovery of valuable metals from an acidic aqueous leaching solution containing 10-40 g/l valuable metal ions comprises liquid/liquid extraction of the solution by contacting the solution once with an organic water insoluble extractant; contacting the extractant charged with valuable metal ions with an acidic aqueous phase, the metal ions being converted into the acidic aqueous phase; and subjecting the acidic aqueous phase to electrolysis or crystallization to recover the valuable metal. The pH of the aqueous leaching solution is adjusted to 1.2-2.5 before and/or during the liquid/liquid extraction. Preferred Features: The leaching solution contains copper ions.
