[origin: WO0191199A1] The invention relates to a piezoelectric actuator, for example, for actuating a mechanical component. The inventive piezoelectric actuator comprises a stratified structure of piezoelectric layers and, interposed therebetween, inner electrodes (2, 3) and a mutual lateral contacting of the inner electrodes (2, 3) with the outer electrodes (4, 5). Said outer electrodes (4, 5) are distributed on each of the lateral faces in a net or tissue-type structure and is connected to the respective inner electrodes (2, 4) at least in some points. The outer electrodes (4, 5) are extended beyond the stratified structure of the pieozoelectric layers so that the electric voltage is supplied at these extensions (8, 9).
