[origin: EP1231021A2] Method for jointing the cutting edge (9) of at least one cutting knife (3) of a rotating tool comprises performing a radial feed movement, having an effective joint region longer than the cutting edge, between the tool and at least one straight jointing stone (25). At least one relative stroke shorter than the length of the cutting edge is performed during the jointing process between the jointing stone and the cutting edge in the longitudinal direction of the cutting edge. Preferred Features: At least two strokes are performed in opposite directions during the jointing process. The stroke is shorter than the length of the cutting edge and its speed is lower than the speed of the tool.
