[origin: EP1231346A2] The hinge for the door of a refrigerator has a fixed section (1) attached to the housing of the refrigerator and a movable section (11) attached to the door and pivoted to the fixed section. The hinge assembly has a spring to bias the door open when adjacent to its open position. It has a second damping spring to limit he shock load on the hinge at the end of travel.
