[origin: WO0219477A1] The invention relates to a brush assembly for an electric machine (10), comprising at least one pair of brushes (44). At least one brush (22) is mounted in a displaceable manner and a spring (46) acts upon the displaceable brush(es) (22) in a displacement direction. The brush assembly is characterised in that an insulating element (52) is placed between one end (48) of the brush(es) (22) that is directed towards the spring (46) and one end (50) of the spring (46) that is directed towards the brush(es) (22). Said insulating element prevents a thermal transfer to the spring (46).
