Abstract (en)
[origin: WO0138665A1] The invention relates to a support element (1), for supporting thin brittle sheets (3, 3'), in particular, ceramic sheets for the cladding of surfaces (14), in particular, in civil engineering. Said element comprises a means of fixing (2), at least one support body (5, 5', 5''), a plinth (13) and a cover (11), whereby the support body(ies) (5, 5', 5'') are of dimensions that match an opening in the sheet (3, 3'), in such a way that they may be arranged in said opening, essentially without play or tension and at least partially extend through the opening. According to the invention, said support elements (1) are characterised in that the plinth (13) and cover (12) are linked to each other by a connector piece (15) and are produced as a single component with the support body (5, 5', 5''). The use of said support elements (1), for the support of thin brittle sheets (3, 3'), in particular, for the cladding of surfaces in civil engineering with ceramic sheets, is characterised in that the support element (1) is fixed to a surface (14), with a means of fixing (2), by using a fixing jig.
