[origin: EP1234891A1] Process for increasing the static and/or dynamic load of a molded metallic workpiece comprises subjecting the workpiece to ultrasound treatment using energy-rich ultrasound waves after molding. Preferred Features: The ultrasound waves have prescribed frequency and amplitude. The ultrasound treatment is carried out in a region of the workpiece which is subjected later to high loads. The workpiece is made from steel or an aluminum alloy. The workpiece is molded by casting, forging or pressing.
