Abstract (en)

[origin: EP1234907A2] A textile assembly has a brush-roller with lines of surface-mounted semi-flexible fingers (4) of equal length. When in rotation, the finger (4) tips impinge upon, bend and scrape against a passing textile web, and then self-erect without damage to the web. The fingers are fabricated of a polymer material with a Shore hardness of 55-65. The fingers are 30-150 mm long and are 3-12 mm in diameter. The fingers are either circular or square in cross-section. The fingers are arrayed on the drum in rows or in a helical pattern at intervals of from 1-10 mm.
